There are so many colorful situations in life that need to be shared. It’s an awesome thing to be able to share experiences and my perspective through art. People learn about history through illustration and writing. I want to use my artistic expression as a platform to share history and education with my peers and generations to follow.
Artwork is more understandable when people can relate to what they are seeing. In my art I like to put a spotlight on situations that most people deal with, but don't always speak about. In highlighting these taboo situations I choose to sweeten the delivery with humor. Laughter can shake the atmosphere and connect people, and I want my art to do that. I believe there are times when allowing messages to be uncomfortable with a blunt delivery is necessary but, there are already so many bearers of bad news, that I’d rather my art be a ray of light piercing this dismal world. I want to make people smile. I want to make people laugh at themselves and then realize that things are not so bad after all.
